June 11-17, 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the passage of the National Public Service Week: Serving Canadians Better Act in 1992. Its objective is to “recognize the value of the services rendered by federal public service employees” and to “acknowledge the contribution of federal public service employees to the federal administration.”
“As former and currently serving public servants, military members and mounted police, National Public Service Week is an occasion for us to reflect and take great pride in our many individual and collective contributions to building a country that ranks among the best in the World,” said National President Jean-Guy Soulière. “2017 is also the 150th anniversary of Confederation and, since we will be holding our Annual Members Meeting in Ottawa during National Public Service Week, we will have a chance to celebrate these significant milestones together and to recognize our contributions.”
