The following message is a reminder from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat about the transition of the Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan (PDSP) to Canada Life, effective Nov. 1, 2024.

Work continues to help ensure a smooth transition for you. As a reminder, the new contract requires mandatory positive enrolment. We are pleased to confirm that to facilitate the member experience, Canada Life has proactively completed positive enrolment for 99% of PDSP members. The two scenarios below provide information to guide you through which circumstance may apply to you.

Scenario 1: Canada Life has completed your positive enrolment
It is likely that you have received a positive enrolment confirmation notice from Canada Life by mail or email to validate your information. This means that Canada Life has completed positive enrolment for you! However, even if positive enrolment has been done on your behalf, it is important to validate the information on file and update where needed, including details for your dependants. If you wish to receive direct deposit for faster claims reimbursements, please provide or update your banking information, as required. This will ensure that there are no interruptions in the processing of your claims and those of your dependants as of November 1, 2024. If you had not validated your information, Canada Life sent you a reminder earlier in October.

Scenario 2: You must complete positive enrolment
If Canada Life has not contacted you, this means that positive enrolment has not been completed and you must complete it yourself. This will mostly apply to new pensioners who recently retired from the federal public service. However, please first check your junk mail to see if Canada Life sent you a positive enrolment confirmation notice email. If you did not receive a notice by email or by mail, you can complete your positive enrolment online or call the Canada Life PDSP Member Contact Centre

New plan number
As part of the new contract, your plan number will change on November 1, 2024. Remember to inform your dental provider at your next visit.

Your new plan number is based on your month of birth or status as a member, as follows:

  • January, February, or March: 92111
  • April, May, or June: 92112
  • July, August, or September: 92113
  • October, November, or December: 92114

If you are an eligible surviving dependant, your new plan number will be 92115.

Note: The services for both you and your eligible dependants will be administered under the same plan number and certificate number. The certificate number is your unique identifier under the PDSP.
