Congratulations to Anne Miller, winner of the 2024 APEX Career Contribution Award sponsored by the National Association of Federal Retirees. To win this award, the honoree must have served a minimum of 20 years in the federal public service, including at least five years as a senior executive.

Miller has devoted her impressive career with the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) and Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) to maritime safety and environmental stewardship. Most recently, Miller served as regional director of CCG programs for the Atlantic region — Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, the first woman to hold the position. Her strategic and inclusive leadership will have a lasting impact on the CCG community and beyond.

This year’s Career Contribution Award was presented by Association president Roy Goodall at the 2024 APEX Awards of Excellence Ceremony on May 14. Federal Retirees is proud to celebrate outstanding leaders and has sponsored the award for seven consecutive years.

“We believe that there is a natural affinity between recognizing public service leadership excellence and celebrating the collective contributions and dedicated service to Canada and Canadians made by our 170,000 members,” said Goodall.
